The Latest Harry Potter
-
So. . .I guess there is a little indie film that got a much needed head start last night. . .The latest installment of our Intrepid Teenage Heroes. . .
Ron, Hermione and of Course Harry in the lastest Chapter from Warthogs School. . .
Harry Potter and the Bottomless Cauldron of Money
The Working title was Harry Potter and The Strange New Feelings.I guess . . and I am only guessing cuz I haven't read a Harry Book since Harry Potter Vs. the Transformers. . .
but I guess In this installment Harry, Ron and Hermione all get snogged. .which is Brit for getting kissed by somebody. They are all jealous of each other and of course Harry is head over Broom in snog with Ginny which of course ticks off Ron who has feelings for Hermione but is too cool to let on and Hermione loves Ron so she shows him how much she cares by turning him into an Aardvark. Itโs all so cute. Anyway they had about 16 million midnight showings last night and they were all sold out with muggles wearing their best Harry Potter costumes. .. they are of course referred to as Dumbledorks. ๏Actually the reviews have been quite good. .. the best since the third Movie. . .Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Typecasting.
We are going this weekend. Details to follow.

Oh David, H.P. is good stuff! When we come visit you (which was put off by a month or two - did you notice I never dropped by your work last month?), when we come visit you, I'll bring all the Harry Potter movies, extended platinum director's cut versions and we can sit and watch them together for hours......errr, days. I'll even let you take short Jetson's breaks in between ech movie if you need something to help keep you sane

I like Harry Potter. I'm not a Rabid fan . ..(i.e. dumbledork) but I have seen every one of the films. I read the books to my kids when they were younger. I did all the voices. (by the way. .. Hagrid is rough on the ol' vocal chords)
I just haven't gotten into all of the Lord of the RIngs or Harry Potter or Xmen to the point of seeing them 20 + times. But I do like good ol' Harry.
Actually Ron is my favorite.
BTW Chris. . .I didn't know you had come to SLC! When was that? Why didn't you get in touch with me? Are you coming to SLC for the training camp thing?
@unknownuser said:EDIT .. oh you DIDN"T Come to Salt Lake. I need to learn how to read more gooder.Well Call me when you do.
UPDATE. .. my wife just emailed me. I have my Tickets for Saturday!! I am so excited!!!

Just saw it this afternoon; loved it. It's not High Art. It's not Serious Social Commentary. Tough. Like any good fairy story HP includes some excitement, some drama, some love, some moral points (like 'treasure your friends', 'be kind','adults can be arseholes' etc) and some terror.
I enjoyed all the books. Again, not High Art. So what? They're still a better way to spend your time than religious claptrap or Heat magazine (which is, lets's face it, a weekly religious offering for the worshippers of celebrity). Rowling didn't create some amazing new thing; she put together a really nice version of a number of classic storytelling tropes, added some good characters, some good descriptive work and most of all built a story that actually got millions of kids to read something that took work to follow instead of mindless pap. Good for her.

Hey, I got a chance to go see it last night too! I think it was fantastic. I liked this one quite a bit.
I give it 12 and a third Phoenix's. I'm not sure what the conversion rate is between a hedwig and a phoenix, but I think I ranked it higher than David_H.
-
well i Think my scale has 4 hedwigs equal to 16 Phoenixes. .
Which is Equal to 10 Gold Snitches. So I ranked it up there pretty high.

I'm not knocking the Potter Fanchise, but I thought this was amusing:
