[Idea] Aligner
-
Hi all... i think this is definitely worth a try.. i am thinking of a tool that will align selected objects (especially by center)
- take the example of separate lampshade, stand, lightbulb and base
- go to plan or a side view (perhaps it is easier to script?)
- hit 'aligner' > choose mode:
horizontal (left - centre - right)
vertical (top - centre - bottom)i can help with the icons and toolbar.. (the rest is beyond my life cycles)

-
Something like this perhas: Align Tool 3D?

See this excellent plugins. Something like this would be very interesting

hi, sort of but not exactly - i'm thinking more like the align in photoshop or illustrator
some quick icons which align objects (by their geometric extents if possible and not by their internal axis) more like a tweaked drop.rb for any axis (that's what i tried to do before i felt dazed by the first line)
what i want is less interaction as possible - personally have no big problem aligning objects manually - it is part of the flow - but i have found that many people struggle for a long time with this, especially if they are dealing with curvy stuff etc..
i thought it may be one of those things like Matt's units script - simple yet i now use it all the time..
...i watched the good demo but i can't get into the chinese site..

If it makes it better. Go ahead.
Mine can be a little unstable for massive amounts of geometry so back up before use just to be sure. -
Thanks Jan, i'll give it a try - don't know about better though..

Is that second link asking for registration to access the site? Or is it some elaborate "download!" page that baffles me?
