Hi all... i think this is definitely worth a try.. i am thinking of a tool that will align selected objects (especially by center)

      1. take the example of separate lampshade, stand, lightbulb and base
      2. go to plan or a side view (perhaps it is easier to script?)
      3. hit 'aligner' > choose mode:

horizontal (left - centre - right)
vertical (top - centre - bottom)

i can help with the icons and toolbar.. (the rest is beyond my life cycles)

hi, sort of but not exactly - i'm thinking more like the align in photoshop or illustrator

some quick icons which align objects (by their geometric extents if possible and not by their internal axis) more like a tweaked drop.rb for any axis (that's what i tried to do before i felt dazed by the first line)

what i want is less interaction as possible - personally have no big problem aligning objects manually - it is part of the flow - but i have found that many people struggle for a long time with this, especially if they are dealing with curvy stuff etc..

i thought it may be one of those things like Matt's units script - simple yet i now use it all the time..

...i watched the good demo but i can't get into the chinese site.. πŸ˜’

If it makes it better. Go ahead.
Mine can be a little unstable for massive amounts of geometry so back up before use just to be sure.

Is that second link asking for registration to access the site? Or is it some elaborate "download!" page that baffles me?
