Wall Texturing and Patterning

I am working on a project similar to the image below. We are putting metal paneling on the outside but it is all multi-colored and kind of a random pattern. Anyone have and ideas on how to do this best? I was almost thinking it would be a post production item, but would be a pain in the butt either way. Help would be greatly appreciated!

I would draw the pattern on the face and then hide the edges between the different colors. Seems pretty easy. Am I missing something? Are you more concerned with how to create the material?

Sorry for any confusion, I am rendering the model with vray. I usually always model each piece of siding with the correct profile (via one profile and scaling the component), makes for better shadow lines and faster render times vs. doing a bump or displacement map. Soooo I guess I really dont know my question, maybe I answered it. I guess if anyone has any other ideas on a more efficient way of doing it.
