Material Importing in SU 7?
-
How do you import a material library into SU 7?
-
Do you mean a whole SketchUp library? They are actually folders full with skm files (which are zipped folders with the texture file and other things inside) located at
C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 7\Materials
on Windows. Now as I see you are on the Mac, I'm not sure where they are but maybe try something like this:
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Google Sketchup 6/SketchUp/Materials
(Note hat I'm just making this up as I'm not a Mac user)If this is the case, simply copy the material folder there.
Now if you want to import external images, that's a different thing. Do you?

No, images are not a problem for me. It's an actual wood library that I found online that I would like to import. It is a .zip file and I've downloaded it but don't know how to get it into SU 7. Thanks for the direction though - I'll give it a try and see how it goes.
Anyone else have any input? Thanks!

It can be done like above on the Windows soI hope a Mac user will also chime in and confirm or correct me. You should simply unzip your folder under the proper place (hoping that something like the above).
Also, "we" have this option, too, which should be there (somewhere) on the Mac as well (but these dialogs are the ones that differ the most)
Also, have a look at the (Mac) SU Guide if you find anything useful there. -
Thanks, I'll check that link. I know I don't have that icon to the far right like you have shown in your example though. I hope I can find out how to do this - seems crazy to imagine it not available.

Ok, that link you posted had what I needed. I guess I have to drop the materials into the library outside the program. You can't just import from the Painter window while in SU. Thanks!
