[REQ] TransparencySort Script
-
Would it be possible to have a script run TransparencySort before showing next frame of an animation?
For minimising those ugly white borders around images (trees for example) when SU gets confused which is closest to the camera. -
What's TransparencySort ?
-
Look under rendering options in the API.
My guess is that it sorts what transparent object is in front of another.
Hopefully it will take care of those ugly transparency glitches in SU. -
I think that's only the Transparency Quality you set in the Styles window. Even at highest I still see artefacts.
-
If you Google "transparency sort Open GL" you'll find explanations that seem to correspond with what I wrote.
I don't understand what "sort" would have to do with quality settings? To me it seem like it would have more to do with sorting...
-
I thought it related to how much processing it's spend on sorting the transparency.
-
Maybe you're right.
I just hoped for an easy fix for this annoying problem.
One might need to hack into Open GL to "sort" the transparent polygons then.
-
Dunno.
What's odd is that I some times find "Medium" to give better result than "Best".. o_O ...go figure...But is OpenGL used when exporting 2D graphic? Does the artefact still occur?

This problem really annoys me! So, SU uses the order of creation rather than the distance to the camera to decide what should be in front? Shouldn't that be relatively easy for Google to fix?
