Glue / sticky control
-
This is probably a stupid newbie question about the behavior of entities glued together. For example, I want to place a beam (component) on top of two posts (components). If I edit the post components to change their height from 9' to 12 ', I want the beams to remain connected to the top of the posts. By extension, if I have rafters/sheathing/shingles on top of the beams I want the entire roof to lift 3' when I edit the post component. I can't seem to get this basic glueing to work. What am I missing?
Any help appreciated.
Cheers,

May need to be fabricated as a dynamic component

Thanks, I was afraid of that. There isn't some technique where I can move and edge and have geometries glued to that edge move?
-
Select the entity and then use the move command
-
...but that'll only work if the 2 bits of geometry are in the same context, so geometry inside a component wont effect geometry outside the component. As mentioned before it sounds like a job for DC, if you need to do this a lot, otherwise just do it by hand.

thank you Remus for wording what i have failed to; i felt my answer was inadaquate

Thank you for the help. Manual adjustments seem the best alternative for what I need -- I just wanted to confirm there wasn't a simple trick in SU that I didn't understand.
