Help drawing!
-
I'm new to SketchUp, and are looking forward to use it, BUT I've no idea how to start drawing!! I have the newest version (7), and choose architectural design-feet and inches as template. Then I get a totally blank page (with the tools) I start drawing with "line tool" but no line shows up. Neither if I try the rectangle or circle tool. What's wrong? I wonder if I also miss a sort of coordinate system (x, y and z)with a man placed in it. I've seen this on several videos on You Tube etc.
I will be very thankful if someone could help me with this problem...

Hi Inakika,
The template you chose doesn't include the 2D man (called "Sang") but there should be a red, green and a blue axis on the screen on white background (not you can always change your template at Window > Preferences > Templates).
Now if you cannot see any lines, that's a different issue. I'd first of all suggest a test; go to the above Preferences window and there, to OpenGL. Now uncheck "hardware acceleration" and see what happens. If it seems to solve your problem, don't go away yet because you will need further instructions.

Now I can draw! Thank you so much

I told you above not to be happy with this YET!
It means that your video subsystem doesn't support OpenGL sufficiently. If you have a decent video card, you should try to update its driver and try SU with tis hardware acceleration ON (otheriwse SU can become substantially slower).
Now if you don't have a decent card (like if you have an integrated chipset for instance), you cannot do too much but use SU without hardware acceleration.
