Troffing or guttering?

I don't have it with me now, but tomorrow I'll post it if it will help. Thanks! So, I gather it's hard to determine what it is just from the looks of it???
-
It can be several things. Using the PushPull tool instead of the Follow me tool (sorry), having too small dimensions whatnot. It's always the easiest to have a straight and direct look at the model itself.
-
oops! how do I post an *.skp file?
-
Just like any other attachment - below the text area where you type your post, there's an "attachment" tab. Follow that.

I cannot get the original path (for the follow me tool) from your file. Obviously something is wrong but this is the result and not what we should start with (like in the image you posted above).
Anyway, whatever the originalpath is,it's rather hard to work with the model because it's out of any (easy) axis alignments (I tried copying some of the lines to make a "logical" path).
You may eventually need to intersect the extrusion with itself and delete unwanted geometry as the follow me tool sometimes doesn't "like" too sharp angles.

Yes, that's been my practice so far.
Thank you for your help!

Hm. I didn't even try to play with the "scale factor" as the whole shape (compared to Bryce) seemed to be big enough. Well, apparently not. Nice, Bruce.

I was able to take a path from your model. You must be careful to define it so that the lines are on the same plane..i.e. once you close the path it will take on a face. If not then you need to find a path that is on one plane.
Once I got the path I scaled it up 10 times and ran the profile outside the path. The followme ran it around perfectly..no need for clean-up.
This gives me some ideas, thank you. This attachment should be easier to work with.

follow-me tool problem 3d file.skp Here is the path and profile for easier evaluation.

My first example (at the top of the post) was huge...about 150 feet long. I just forgot cause I work at that scale as a default. It can be a pain though when you load someones model and it appears as a dot.
Thanks for your help and sorry for the multiple posts. Didn't think to look on the second page, duh

Very nice and thanks again.
