      Hi all.

I'm new to SU and i have a question.

I want to wrap a photo around this container.

I know how to do it with a regular cylinder, but his shape causes me a lot of problems.

Can you give me a hint how to solve it

      Best regards

      Hoeg

Which image do you want to wrap around? I wrapped around one arbitrarily picked image from your materials. Not the glitches though: you have to scale your material so that it will wrap around nicely. In this case the material is smaller to wrap around just once but bigger to wrap around twice nicely and evenly. Have a look at this example (with a short description) why scaling the material is essential in such cases.

To wrap a material around something that doesn't want to automatically wrap for you, do the following (with a properly scaled material):

        1. turn on hidden geometry (View menu)
        2. paint ONE facet with the material
        3. right click > Texture > Position.
        • you can now position it if needed but if not, just hit Enter.
        1. sample the material from that facet (use the "eyedropper tool" from the material browser or the Alt+Paint bucket tool)
        2. turn off hidden geometry and paint the whole thing.
Finally an important note: in your model, the curved surface is inside out i.e. showing the reverse (blue, back) face outside. This will result in any material applied mirrored (especially annoying with images with text). You have to right click the face (edit the group first) and "Reverse material" to get it fixed.

I purged your modelof materials and also compressed your image a bit for bandwidth saving here - it went down from 2+ Mb to 130 Kb now but this is for example only anyway, if you wish, you can reload your material with the original)
