      I was told to create a flyby in SU for a client of ours. I have used SU in the past, and made small houses and such and that is all. The job that was thrown in my lap is a COMPLETE campus Master Plan. All the new walks, landscaping and various features.I have the Clock Tower drawn as well as the Pergola. I inserted all the CAD LWK and have pulled the buildings up, giving them height. I put the features in there as well and trees and bushes. I should have done all the elevation raising and lowering FIRST. Problems encountered: 1) I have no idea HOW to move the contours up and down with the LWK I have. 2) How do I make the line so they aren't so heavy? 3) Trying to put paver textures in huge areas and cannot figure out how to get a small texture in a huge space to look right......I could go on. The best part of my whole job is that this whole campus is due next Friday...LOL!!...and I am not allowed enough time at work to get much of anything done....I love my job....

        1. not sure what an LWK is, could you expand a bit...

        2)window->styles->edit->turn off profiles

        3)The bes think to do here is make your own texture. the provided textures are pretty crap, really, and tend to tiles badly (i.e. they look bad when you use them for large areas.) If youve got photoshop this should be fairly simple, the main thing is to make sure there are no distinctive patterns that repeat. this goes for colour changes as well.

        once youve made your texture, you can import it in to SU by going file->import->'use image as material'

          LWK...sorry..Linework from CAD. I just imported it. Some of it was at the right elevations, but most, whoever did the original LWK did set it right and therefore I have LWK up and down and not really right at all.

          2)window->styles->edit->turn off profiles

          OMG...THANKS is NOT NEARLY enough....HOW COOL IS THIS NOW!!

          I do have photoshop...I tried most of the day yesterday (boss was out of town) to create trees and such and could not get those to work out either. I think I got one to work right but wasn't really great. I will have to work more on textures
