I agree that Google could have better tutorials for the DC's. That was a huge frustration for me when I was learning DC's.

Somewhere in the help system is a .pdf that has a pretty good explanation of all the available functions. That was the most helpful thing I found, though it is the hardest thing to find. I don't know why they hide the most useful document......grrr.

I'll see if I can find that link with the page numbers,

      Chris

Well, I didn't find it. But in the SketchUp users guide pdf, on page 853 (approximately) is where they explain DC functions. Here are some pretty good links I found online in the help center too:

        http://sketchup.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=115544
        http://sketchup.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=108144

The first one is a series of small tutorials I think. The bottom one is a list of functions which is pretty useful. I think it is most of the same info I was looking for in the users guide.

Other than that, I would recommend starting small. Just try to figure out how to make an object rotate by clicking on it. Then how to move a DC, then change colors, then figure out how to set up the menus in the DC options box. And work you way up to dynamic scaling and copying.

Also, once you get into making them, we started a thing called the DC exploration series a few months ago. The idea was to post a topic and a challenege and then see what kind of interesting solutions we could come up with. There is a link at the top of this forum. I think we worked on color, rotation/movement, and scaling/copying. You might check out those threads. They are pretty interesting.
