Best way to model a green wall
-
Hi I am looking at modeling a green wall in sketch up and was wondering what the best method would be. I am sure thier are some tools out there to help me model it I just dont know where to look, or how best to do it. I am looking to render it with either v ray or podium. would a randomly arrayed clip map work best ? Thanks for any help you can give me.
ps. the images below gives a good impression of what i would like to achieve.

i think your best bet would be to model the pole sections and then use a texture+clipmap for the greenery. For the podium render you could even use a .png image with transparency for the texture, as podium now recognises the alpha channel.

I'd definitely go for a png file with transparent background (in case it's needed, you can always make a simple clipmap from it in PS or such). Podium can handle transparent backgrounds directly - I don't know about Vray but then clipmap it. Especially from already a moderate distance it wouldn't be obvious that it's just a single face you apply it on but of course, you can even ad some "undulating" surface to it if needed.
Hi Remus... don't you have exmas coming? There won't be any promotion at SCF if you fail any!
