Circles - number of segments
-
Dear Google Team,
I have noticed that the maximum number of segments is limited to 1000. Why is that? As an example, for a 1000 mm diameter circle the segment length is 3.14 mm, which for some drawing requirements is a bit coarse.

Hi Bob, hi folks.
I just tried with SU 7 and was able to change the number of segments from 24 to 9000.
I think that 9999 is the limit since if I use 10000, it revert to 1000.
The resulting length of an individual edge is 0.349066 mm which is quite small.
After all SU was design to model buildings where such small objects are seldom seen.
However, you can draw larger than required and then scale down at the end to get very small objects. For example, pretend that millimeters are meters. When done, scale down by 1000 (scale factor of 0.001 to be exact) to get the real thing.
Just ideas.

Dear Jean,
I have only just picked up your reply, hence the delay.
I am still using SU6 at work, and that might be the reason why I can only set the segment number to 1000 or less.
Using the scale tool is a clever idea, but then you're a clever chap. Thanks for the tip.
Kind regards,
Bob
