Have Autodesk just bought this off another firm? I think Imagemodeler has been around for a while. Looks cool though.

be good if su had a few more photomatch features like this to make matching easier for beginners and in difficult situations

+1, specially for advanced features like multi-shots positionning. Same object taken under different angles and/or distances.

There was a recent review in 3D World magazine. The basic conclusion was that SU's Photo Match feature was slightly better than ImageModeler, but ImageModeler had superior texturing.

Autodesk bought RealViz in the last year or two. ImageModeler and Stitcher were then re-badged as Autodesk products and this latest release is the first update of the programs.

Yes, Image Modeller was around at the same time as Cortona...and that's going back some. SU's Photo Match pretty much goes head to head with it. I'd say that Photo Match was rather more intuitive...and a heck of a lot cheaper.
If you need proper photogrammetry...that is establishing precise dimensions of otherwise unmeasurable lengths from nothing other than photo reference and one or two lengths that you can actually measure, then I'd say that IM has the edge. If I remember rightly, it has a whole load of presets for different makes of camera to compensate for any distortion. If all you need is a reasonably accurate representation for client visuals, then Photo Match is fine.

Perspective rectifier looks good, and cheap too. It looks very similar to an AllPlan plug in called Curames that a rep demonstrated at my old office. I can never find a link to it on the net.

Image Modeller looks very good, at least at Youtube videos... although there is something free.
Latest public beta is from October 2008. You will find a link there.

He intends to release it with a source code. It will make it an open-source project as Blender.I have tried the Insight, but without reading the documentation, I have not achieved a 3D result. Will try it once again when time permits.
