i'm going through SU for dummies and it's asking me to choose camera, parallel prjection. After that is should look like a plan but my version stays in perspective. What gives? Thanks in advance.

Put it on parallel projection and then click on the top view to get a true plan view of your model. Once your in top view, toggle back and forthe between parallel and perpsective. You should be able to see it toggle better that way. Hope that helps,

        Chris

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.

Once you choose parallel view, you need to click on the toolbar Views (looks like series of houses) . You have iso, top , front etc...views.
well , you beat me to it πŸ˜‰

This is the toolbar in question:

            Views.png
You can activate it (and many others) from the View menu > Toolbars.
You can also get any of these "Standard" (top, front, right etc.) views from the Camera manu > Standard views. Those menu items do the same as the toolbar buttons except there is an extra menu item: "Bottom" (which you rarely use therefore they omitted it rom the toolbar to save space I guess).
