Quad Gun Tractor

Thought I'd make something different.
Took 3 hours to model, 2 hours to texture.Any C&C's welcome.

Very cuty for a new "Hummer"

-
I like the cartoon/ comic feel to it, good texturing.
-
it reminds me of the gorillas video (kids with guns)
-
Excellent form, I like the front-end especially. Perhaps you could embellish it with some extra surface detail such as aerials and hand-holds etc.
Check this tank thread from shareck: http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=17329&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=tank

Hi all, thought I'd put my latest model on this thread as it's along the same lines.
This is a Dingo Scout Car from WW2. I have a couple textured and a few skinned.

-
These would look cool in a game engine
what method did you use for UV mapping them? -
that is class!!
-
This is good, I like those texture, how did You make it?
-
Hi all, thanks for your comments.
The procedure for making these models is quite simple really.
I start by making the model as you can see in the first two Dingo pic and texture them accordingly.- Take snapshots of the top and sides and anything else that I need to texture.
- Use a paint program (I use PSP) and use darken to creat shaddow and darker areas.
- Put the new textures together into a single image file and import the image in to scale.
- Apply the new textures onto the model.
- Render the model for real shading.
Hope this helps

that pretty cool, its too bad UV can't be mapped to use texture space a little more efficiently. Other than that good work
Could use a little bit of dirtying up since its a military vehicle IMO -
thats a great process....thanks for sharing that.

...Quite a while ago, I once tried modeling a ferret scout car, but it really wasn't detailed or accurate at all. As usual, I was mostly just playin' around. http://sketchup.google.com:80/3dwarehouse/download?mid=1e2cfd36c3093f7544eb8c14f291fa5b&rtyp=s6&fn=ferret2&ctyp=sm&ts=1221944567000
I might try my luck again sometime, but I'd need some decent blueprints.

nice ....love the military feel.....nice tuts on the process....too bad im still a noob on applying materials and rendering

-
Thanks again all for your C&C's.
@oalexis
It was my first attempt at UV mapping, so hopefully it gets better next time.@β’BTM
Thanks for sharing, it would be easy to map the ferret@MikeR
Here is a basic tut on how to texture from the 3DWarehouse

Thanks for noticing, yes it it the Bell/Boeing V-22 Osprey.
It's not totally accurate because I've only modelled it off pictures because I couldn't find any better resource.
