      instansing brush of KT is really amazing , but i've rarely used it. recently I used it to make the carpet more real , and here is the result:

                It most likely is a proxy based system, but the render engine will still need to consider all the polygons when its rendering.

                    yes, it slows down the render , but not too much . in fact it doesnt affect rendering , but antialiasing time became much more than when i wasn't using proxies. so i guess a preset that uses unbiased method (like preset no 20 ) will work better whit this scene.
