NOTE: I downloaded Sketchup today, and i haven't read any basics tutorial.

Im making a concept sunglasses casing for my school project.
and I want a 3d model for my case (to put it to my folio), So i downloaded sketchup and start to make a model of it.

I have done 3D model casing but this lines really annoys me: 😮

Is there a way I can remove that.

NOTE: i tried erasing it but this happens: 😮

select them, right click and choose hide.

OR select everything (triple click) then right click >Soften/Smooth Edges. 😄

          shift key then erase!

Keep the "Shift" key in your keyboard pressed while using the erase tool to hide edges.
Keep the "Ctrl" key pressed to "hide and soften" edges.

And make sure to watch the basic videos. It will only take you a day to watch them and follow the exercises, but it will save you months of trial and error:

You can also just watch the first four videos in 30 minutes and then jump to any specific tool's video as need arises. The 8th video explains the eraser, I'd recommend that you skip to it right now, and do so for any other tool that might be giving you trouble.

A note about smoothing and hiding: for the most part it is better to smooth lines, as this is essentially telling SU to make the 2 faces look like one face. This is opposed to hiding it where SU just hides the line and displays the 2 faces as 2 distinct faces.

Yet the best is to weld those edges before extruding (Push/Pulling) so that they won't cause any headache later. To check why it would be better, try these steps (now that you have the side facets softened):

                  • Push/Pull the top face higher; fine, you cannot see any difference, the side is still smooth.
                  • Now Ctrl+Push/Pull the top face (this will create a dividing face in between) but now the unsoftened lines appear again.
If you welded the perimeter first, this wouldn't happen.

                  Gai...
