I decided to collect some of my humble attempts at modeling with SU since I started using it in January.

My second model, created a couple of days after watching the introductory videos. I had played with SU in past years (did some random push-pull and forgot about it), but this was the first time I actually used it. The videos made all the difference. I designed this one and other two options for the local Assembly Hall of the Jehovah's witnesses:

SU+ArchiCAD libraries. Design by a friend nicknamed "R2":

Testing Chris Fullmer's amazing "Random Painter" plug-in, which he generously created when I asked if something like this existed. I used "Random Painter" to randomly assign materials to the buildings made with the Greeble plug-in.

A design by another friend, rendered in Kerkythea. Added the same watercolor effect I showed in Solo's garden pack thread, and, since I was in a hurry, even recycled the layer masks, and forgot to give the glass something better to reflect:

Testing Wikii's extremely useful "FollowMe and Keep" plugin. Rendered in Kerkythea in 39 seconds, no post-processing done:

        Looking good so far Ecuadorian!
I think you'll learn a lot trying these different techniques.

Are you studying to become an architect?

Can you post the ground texture used in your wall model here?

I think all of the attemps have merit I love the first post, I do a lot of signage and landscape construction imagery and this is as clean and clear as anything I have ever needed to present to a client. All your work has something that shows your creativity and your thirst to learn and perfect SU

                        Sure:
                        Grass0070_1_S_seamless.jpg
I just downloaded it from the nature section of cgtextures.com and used the "make seamless" filter in GIMP.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement... After 10 years with ArchiCAD, I'm still finding my way in SketchUp and I'm terribly slow, but I'm having fun.

Well, I graduated as an architect back in 2003, but I still don't consider myself an architect. So yes, you can say that I am studying to become an architect. Now that I don't have to attend classes, I am finally free to actually learn.

                          Hi Ecuadorian,

I really like the work you produce.
Quite extraordinary, especially when you are using SU just a couple of months now.
                          Keep it up.

Should the signature block say "asembleas" instead of "asambleas"?

By the way, first SU renders that don't look like SU are a good sign of great things to come.
