      Hello,
I switched to GE v5 and noticed a feature missing. In the current version, mouse location only shows latitude & longitude. In the old version, elevation was shown also.
In the new version, eye level/altitude is shown.
Mouse elevation was very handy when using GE to plan a bicycle ride …hit or avoid those hills.
Anyone know if that feature is available?
      How to turn it on?
      Thanks,
      Glenn

Glenn, I noticed the same thing. I always used that elevation feature. It is there, it's on the right of the Lat-Long info at the bottom and the default is set to meters, to set it to feet go to the the Tools menu then options and in the 3D view tab you can check the elevation radial buttons. Hope that helps!

          Spence,
          Thanks for the response.
I had tried that menu earlier, with no luck.
So I tied again, still no luck.
Reset defaults, restarted GE, no luck.
          Thanks anyway,
          Glenn

Glen, are you not seeing the elevation info at all? This is the GE build that I'm currently using (5.0.11337.1968 (beta)

The other day, I was looking for the elevation data and it took me a few minutes to it. Mine is dead center at the bottom, below the copyright text and it's just a little hard to find, I think.

                Version 5011337.1968 beta
The elevation (of the terrain under the mouse)is not displayed.
                I've attached a screen shot.
The lat/long is center, eye altitude is in the bottom right.
                Thanks again,
                Glenn

Hi Glenn, you have to have terrain turned on. Then it will show you the elevation under the cursor.

                  Chris

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.

Thanks to everyone else for the effort,

Oh my, it was just having the terrain turned on...duh! Makes perfect sense, I would have never noticed that since I never turn the terrain off. Glad to know that's figured out.

Cool, it's always good that problems like this are brought up. Next time I won't feel too dummy!
                        😄
