      Hello all –
Beginner’s question. I searched through the topics and can’t find the answer.

When I watch the tutorial videos, the instructor creates a component, and then copies the component. Whenever she does a push-pull on one component, the copies of the component simultaneously push-pull.

When I follow the instructions, create a component, the push-pull automatically disables for the component. What am I doing incorrectly?

      Cheers!

you need to be inside the component when you edit (push/pull, scale....) it. double click to get inside.

Yes, PushPull (or follow me and a bunch of other operations like texture positioning and such) only work on single faces that you have "direct access to" (so to say).

So either they are within a component/group OR part of a curved surface you cannot use these tools.

For components/groups, there is the edit option; i.e. you have to go "inside" as Xork says to access the individual faces while with curved surfaces you need to display hidden geometry (View menu) although there you can PP only perpendicularly to the individual facets "normals" so no whole curved PushPulling is possible (without plugins).

            Thanks, Gents!

That will help me keep what little hair I have left!
