Now here is a question. I would appreciate any advice at all but I understand it is quite a specific issue.

Here it is. There are two 3D designers (one being me), both working for the same client on serparate projects but with some cross over. I am using SU and I dont know what they are using but the format is CPO. Now I am exporting my model in 3ds they are then trying to convert it using Milkshake 3D. However it is not working because of the size of the model. I have already simplified it as much as I can (previously it was too big even to convert to 3ds). Short of buying Studio Max 6 is there anything else I can try?

Many thanks in advance for any light that can be shed on the problem.

    Kind regards,

    Sadz

      Hi Sadz,

What I found after Googling "file extension CPO" is that it's an extension of Corel Print House. Then tried to find the product but without any success even on the Corel Pages. There are some descriptions however but the whole thing seems to be a bit mysterious.

Some of them are here (and to tell the truth, it seems to be some kind of an archaic software thus not even listed on Corel sites any longer):
      http://www.confiz.com/blog/?id=1251
http://www.download.com/Corel-Print-House-3/3000-2076_4-27675.html (see "product is no longer updated" line at the bottom of the description)

I don't know what the solution for your problem could be since there isn't even a line what this software can do.

        Thanks Gaius,

I think that has answered my question. No wonder it is causing such a problem. I think they are just going to have to build there own version of the model.

Thanks again, you realy are the the oracle of 3D!!

Well, as I said above, this was the first time I've heard of this format and ll I wrote was just a Google search. 😉

Right I have just spoken to them and the actual 3D development package they are using is called Milkshape 3D, ever heard of it?

I have, i never modeled anything with it, just used it for converting stuff, you can try out the trial which is fully funtional for 30 days, you may be able to use it in getting your model in it in a different format.

It says it exports/imports FBX files. You should give a chance to it - supposedly it's a better format than 3DS for conversion.
