Scrumpled Geometry
-
Hello everyone,
I'm an art student studying at the Slade in London. I've been using sketchup for a while now, to make detailed sketches and mock-ups for large sculptural things. I'm interested in su in its own right and recently had access to use a rapid processing machine. From a cube, I radically pulled a part and distorted its geometry so it forms a crystal like structure, then inverted itself. Obviously the inside geometry of this shape is now horribly complex and unusable to make a stl file as it needs to be hollow on the inside. It does look like a ball of paper. I was hoping to find out whether there is a way of forming a skin or shell around it, like a latex cast, so i can just copy the outside faces, thus making it hollow. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers! -
