Wow......your renders look incredibly similar to the photos. textures are bang on mate, well done. I bet your model is very very heavy!! I need to read up this thread to see how you lit the scene so naturally. Beauties!! And the tiles......these little details just keep popping up!! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ ๐Ÿ˜„ Fantastic work. ๐Ÿ‘ Do you prefer the simple tone mapping? Seem to get richer colours IMO...I love tweaking the image....one of the best features of twilight.

Did a quick anim last night using Smustard's flightpath plugin. Youtube seems to have over compressed the video resulting in the textures looking poor.

              Very nice, Paul... ๐Ÿ‘

I can imagine that although this is straight SU output, the animation took a loooong time to finish...
You should be happy that you didn't need to turn on shadows and run the animation again... ๐Ÿ˜†

Been a bit ill over the past week but spent my time mucking about with animations.

I've knocked this up as a proof of concept, It ends rather abruptly and whilst the music suits, the lyrics don't so if it goes any further I'll have to find something else.

I really like it - very nicely and carefully put together (I don't even want to ask about rendering time).

If you intend to redo the end (and maybe the soundtrack which I like but now irrelevant here), there is a bit of Z-fighting at the end of the video (see attached). It's distracting and annoying enough I guess to get rid of it.

really great control of the camera paths in the animations - its hard to do interiors like that and control the speed and arc of the rotation and not run into anything!

                        Church update:

The builders have been busy, makes you wonder if they're being paid by the shovel full:

They've dug down about 1.2m as they found that there were NO foundations and had to put some in!!

I've been busy on the model but nothing to show at the moment:
                        New Floor design/patten
                        New Pew layout/spacing
                        New altar area
Organ removed revealing 3 new windows

I'm always amazed how many large old buildings survived for so many years with virtually no foundations. I was studying the old Norwegian Stave churches, which were essentially posts on a stone or rubble. And they have lasted all these years.

Great work . Please keep updating

Those capitals are STUNNING! I'm so impressed with your attention to detail. How long did it take you to do this model? How about the capitals too? What was your approach to working on the details?

                                  Hello all,
I've not updated this thread for a while so I thought I'd show you what's happening with the church.

This is the view that greets you as you walk in.
The finished floor level will be at the base of the columns/top of the pyramid founds.

                                  http://lh5.ggpht.com/_Dz6i1AdtgoA/S5ZHNTHl6qI/AAAAAAAAEOM/jH1sBWfbHn8/s800/P1030336.JPG

View of the new foundations and recently stripped walls.

                                  http://lh6.ggpht.com/_Dz6i1AdtgoA/S5ZHOyXoLSI/AAAAAAAAEOQ/O4JacfjgFP4/s800/P1030339.JPG

Good view from the Choir gallery. Nice clean site eh?

                                  http://lh6.ggpht.com/_Dz6i1AdtgoA/S5ZHR6HobJI/AAAAAAAAEOY/Ii9yRJCNAbI/s800/P1030363.JPG

Once the plaster/render was stripped off this is what was found!
The bricks disintegrate when you so much as look at them, a decision of what to do as not yet been made!

                                  http://lh3.ggpht.com/_Dz6i1AdtgoA/S5ZHUQ4PXFI/AAAAAAAAEOc/h5NBQWOaDrY/s800/P1030368.JPG

                                  Finally some Sketchup!
This is the under floor heating. It consists of steel boxes (green) cast into the floor with convection radiators inside them. Grills (pink) flush with the finished floor top them off.

                                  http://lh5.ggpht.com/_Dz6i1AdtgoA/S5ZHWC76vAI/AAAAAAAAEOg/LAUATFPT2JI/s800/Aspects-Floor-2010-02-18 - Scene 1.jpg

                                  A slightly closer view.

                                  http://lh3.ggpht.com/_Dz6i1AdtgoA/S5ZHYMxct_I/AAAAAAAAEOk/8tNzWzO9k1E/s800/Aspects-Floor-2010-02-18 - Scene 2.jpg

Same view but with the floor(unfinised) and pews visible. The Monsignor decided on new deeper pews so its been a bit of a battle getting the new pitching to work within the old column/walls

                                  http://lh3.ggpht.com/_Dz6i1AdtgoA/S5ZHaRXf0oI/AAAAAAAAEOo/Dbju8MPPR4U/s800/Aspects-Floor-2010-02-18 - Scene 3.jpg

Another view of the pews but showing the nealers.

                                  http://lh5.ggpht.com/_Dz6i1AdtgoA/S5ZHcfc9nkI/AAAAAAAAEOs/kt_XqtTs6-w/s800/Aspects-Floor-2010-02-18 - Scene 4.jpg

Same again but with the nealers in the up position.

                                  http://lh5.ggpht.com/_Dz6i1AdtgoA/S5ZHeqzgeaI/AAAAAAAAEOw/xworSgjJLQs/s800/Aspects-Floor-2010-02-18 - Scene 5.jpg

I'm currently working on 3 different models; Floor/Pews, Dry lining, Organ/Choir area and at some point they all be recombined back into the master Proposed model.
The old organ has been completely removed as it was found to be beyond economic repair, a new super-duper one is currently being designed. I may have been mistaken but I'm convinced that I heard the designer talking about a Hemi V8 powered turbo pump from a space shuttle main engine to power the lower notes, apparently it give a richer, smoother sound.

                                  P.S.
In case your wondering, I do work on other projects, but none I can/could/would tell you about. ๐Ÿ˜‰
