Publishing a DVD using www.lulu.com

Hi Guys,
I am considering publishing a dvd using the likes of http://www.lulu.com on the subject of dovetailing in wood.

Has anyone any experiece on these matters please.

Hm... I don't know... It doesn't want to load at all. If this affected your sales, I would consider thinking about it first

It wouldn't be my first choice, Alan....especially if you are intending a series of such things.
I'd contemplate creating your own website and using one of the basic PayPal marketing tools for the transactions. I'm sure you'd get plenty of help from the forum. Keep overheads to a minimum by doing everything yourself.
That's what I did when I launched one of the first commercial SU content sites way back when. The PayPal overheads are really not too bad. You'd need to allow about £1.50 for postage worldwide. There's no need to insure the discs; if one were to get lost (they never did) you just burn another.
I also had a download option, but I'm guessing that wouldn't likely be an option with a DVD because of bandwidth costs.
The CDs usually took anything up to 10 days to get to the likes of California, which means if you allow 28 days for delivery, you can still take a 2 week holiday and make that deadline, even on orders that arrived the day you left.

There's also Google Checkout (a PayPal like paying system) with even better conditions. Otherwise Alan's right. Most "publishers" like this would rip you off anyway.

Hi Guys,
Thanks very much for you replies.
I'll look into all of these options, especially improving my web page
with the necessary features.

With the help of modelhead if you do a google search on hand cut dovetails I come in at No 3, and Yahoo at No 1 and the content is still very sparce.
