Sketchup export preserving componets/instances

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone can direct me to a script/plugin/methodology that will enable me to export components as instances. I'm currently using SUpro6 and importing into Cinema4D, whilst exporing to a *.3ds

I've been looking into this for a while so I hope the answers not blatantly obvious and tat I'm not wasting time. I work as an architect in the UK and am generating large models and subsequently rendering and animating it c4d. The ability to fully preserve the whole model heirachy in sketchup to c4d would prove really invaluable.

Any ideas anyone/
