      hi

the version of sketchup i'am using is SU7

right now iam in a middle of a project building a fantasy shopping mall, its all coming on really well apart from this problem i have encountered.

the mall itself so far is very large at the moment but i want to build other buildings outside of the mall, so what i did was i built a reserved base to put them on, in other words at the bottom i put in a large floor (face) and this face is about 20 times bigger than the mall i have built, and from a distance, everything looks to be fine, but this is where my problem comes in, when i zoom into the base on the outside of the mall, and when i land on it i start walking, it just cannot help but run extremley fast uncontrollably, and when i get inside of the mall its just impossible to walk around in it, and then when i stand still, when im standing in a corridor and looking into the shops, when you look around (using the eye icon) half of the view gives a see through effect going right through to the outside.

its hard to explain because these actions are really giving off weird effects, its very frustrating and it is just putting me off what i call a fantastic and enjoyable project

if anyone can help me with my prooblem, i will appreciate it sooooo much!

thanks for reading, happy sketchupping peoples!

The 'looking through the modle to the outside' sounds like clipping. It can happen quite often when your model is pretty big. You might have some luck scaling the whole thing down.

Yeah, it definitely sound like clipping. See if you can find a fix under the link (my guess would be your enormous model size with that big plane).

As for zooming, SU always zooms relative to the target your cursor is on. I'm not exactly sure what your problem is but when zooming onto remote objects, always expect a faster zooming speed.

i havent tried it yet, but certainly will do when i get a moment!

that scaling method sounds like it should do the trick!

            thanks!

Is it look like this pic?gai.jpg
You can image that there is a su camera contact with your model, it will cut the model. So in this case, bigger is better, scale your model up.
