Has anyone played around with multi-threading in plugins?

If so, with what? And what cotcha's in regards to SU did you experience?

Will threads spawned run on the same or different CPU core?

Yes, several have gone down that dead end road. Lots of posts in the Ruby Google Group, but the search mechanism sucks, or else I'd point you to a dozen threads that go on and on about them.

I had a feeling it wasn't looking too bright for threads, since I've noticed no scripts that uses them.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll have a snoop around on the google groups. I never really go there, I get lost too easily...

Unfortunately the Ruby section of the SU Help Group has been closed down and all the old posts are buried somewhere (under who knows which subforum).

The same with the old "How-to" (I.e. tutorials) sub with some excellent ones by Alan Fraser, Tomsdesk or Chris Fullmer...

          Gai...

Tried to have a look around, and I couldn't find any.

How ironic is it, that a Google group should be hard to search...

The Google Groups Ruby forum wasn't closed down, it was just moved, and Google forgot to tell everybody.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger (even though you kinda look like him). 🤣 I couldn't join for two weeks, and it had to be done manually by a Googler.

Is that group missing posts? I was browsing through the topic titles which ran back to 2006, but didn't see anything related to threading.

Oh, sorry. It must have been the @Last Sketchup forum before that one. March 2006 is when Google bought @Last - a few months later, the forums were move to Google Groups. They were supposed to have transfered all the original posts over, and they probably did, but the search facility doesn't work.

You still can view and search in the old @Last SOFTWARE SketchUp forums. I still can enter with my username.

Here is a link to the old original Ruby forum:
