Is it possible (and if so who could) build a plugin similar to the current components tool, that would be enable users to download models from an internet site other than the google 3d warehouse?

Here is a very basic ruby that opens a CadYou page in IE. You can try editing it (simple text editor) to change the hyper link. If you change the ruby name, you must change its reference in the ruby. The plugin was written by the owner of the CadYou site where you can access his stuff. I have not tested editing his Ruby, use at you own risk.
Btw, I've gotten some good stuff off the CadYou site.
