I liked that explorable image. If you zoom in close on the Chief Justice you can see him mouthing the words. . ."faithfully execute! faithfully execute! Dammit!" 💚

If I make it look easy...It is probably easy

Substituting "terrible" with assinine, childish or sophmoric would be more accurate.

Well, Tom, it's clear you're not concerned with credibility, eloquence, or consideration. At least you were consistent in that regard, and succeeded once again in avoiding a meaningful contribution to the discussion. 😄

The fault there here goes to the "Rant-O-Meter" plugin I installed after the last round of futility: it goes off reminding me not respond sincerely to posts that have no substantive value. (Pity it sounds like a cat having trouble hacking up a large, slimy hairball: it works but is so really hard to stomach 8~))

Well, it's good to see you're branching out on your replies. The ROFLMAL icon was getting a bit old. 😄

Of course, "substantive" is in the mind of the reader. When I thought we were honestly discussing different viewpoints, you apparently thought I was attacking you. From that viewpoint, I can understand why you respond the way you do.

That's water under the bridge, but the point is this: I am glad to have your opinion on things if it rises above an icon. We may not agree, but it's the exercising of our freedom of speech that is paramount - the day may come when we long for the days when we could disagree peacably and publicly.

Thank god for good moods…I can today finally get some brain traction on this thread:

First off, great video, Tomot…both a hilarious hoot and an angry holler (and more than a few tears again over what we had to endure: at least it’s over!)

(Also, Mike, can’t believe the resolution of that photo…thanks for sharing! Is Justice Thomas really sleeping?)

To the question: yes!, change seems to be happening right away, huh? I too was fearful this economic “meltdown” would put off what we voted him in to do, but Obama seems to be using the crisis to immediately make good on his campaign promises (much to his credit and my hoped-he-would)…throwing money at the present, yes, BUT in a way quite mindful of change for the future and for future returns to our economy and our society. I am very pleased so far!

I’ve been watching the Obama-Package naysayers, like House Minority Leader Boner(sp) (hard to miss him…is he wanting on the ticket in 2012 already?), and have to disagree with much of what he’s said so far about what won’t help:

Education spending opens teacher hiring back up (every state where I have a friend has frozen this); allows stalled projects, new and maintenance, to move ahead again; opens up equipment purchases; AND most every cent spent on tuition assistance has a future tax revenue payback many times over…and over. (Besides, I’d much rather as many as possible unemployed 18-20 year-olds are in school than on the streets.)

States assistance (this one I don’t get at all) will be spent immediately, as most are running a deficit right now have a requirement to balance the budget annually. That money here in Kansas will go to into state jobs (employment and wage freezes), construction bond issue pledges (first to go this session), and long on-hold infrastructure projects. Plus, if there is enough, big projects (like my last effort for the KBI :) have a better chance of putting a lot of people to work (building it and using it…and *designing* it :)

And of course to the political base ploys: like contraception (I’ll love to hear how the hell he got it up to $100mil)…Just how many condoms does it take to pay for a welfare baby? Seems to me a good business deal rather than just a social issue!

As for Geithner…I’ll leave my personal feelings aside on the tax issue, and assume Sen. Hatch is correct saying he is the most qualified for the job with the least partisan bias of any others who would be nominated in his stead. Besides, anyone with the credentials to hold that position (a savvy, been around the money block, rich and in the know, financial player/guru type) will of course have to be held to a lower standard than the rest of us…a pity, but this is where we stand in history right now. (I do feel disgust saying this even in jest…it’s too true!)

So IMHO, and not so H, I think Obama is on track already…AND on the right track: just what I asked for at the polls.

On Wednesday, President Obama announced limits on executive pay at $500,000 at companies who receive bailout funds.

"In order to restore our financial system, we’ve got to restore trust,” the president said. “And in order to restore trust, we’ve got to make certain that taxpayer funds are not subsidizing excessive compensation packages on Wall Street."
