Is there a way to make the text in Layout transparent. For creating say a "Copyright" transparent text over an image?

I know you can alter the transparency to fills.

    Cheers Jeff.
Do not reply with transparent text please 🤣

        Hi Jeff,

How about making a Copyright text with no background (ground and sky) with the 3D text tool in SU, hide its edges and give the material of the text itslesf some transparency. Then you can insert it on top of your "real" model viewport and bring to the front.

Other than this, i could only imagine to rename the layout file to zip, open it, find the png files (LO creates from the inserted SU content) and apply some kind of watermark image to them. Make sure never refresh/update your SU viewports in LO again.

What about using SU's watermark feature?

            Hi John,

I guess it could work IF the text should appear over the model itself but what about pages with no model at all? Or when the inserted model is elsewhere on a page than on the previous one and one wants to put the transparent text to the same place consistently?

Couldn't you simply have a blank view in SU in which the model was not visible and saved that as a page, then link to that view in LO when needed?

Sure you can do that but in this cas you could also insert a semi transparent png image overlay into any LO page as well. Certainly a built-in watermark solution (just like in SU) would be the ideal, ultimate solution.
