I imported a DWG into sketchup. A bunch of contour lines. it came into sketchup as segmented individual lines rather than composed lines. Any idea how to avoid this?

        Hi Joe again,

There is everything segmented in SU -there are no "real" curves; everything is made upof segments.

So even if i am exporting full lines from CAD, they will import into SU as hundreds of tiny lines which make up the entire line?

Not the straight ones - just curves. If these are topo contour lines, you may be interested in SimplifyContours.rb downloadable at the bottom here.
