How do you make your 2D trees or 2D people to align with your currect screen view no matter where you orbit the model?

      Thanks

When you create the component you have a check box for always face camera; check that. If you want it to rotate at the center of a person or tree, click the "set gluing plane" button then place your axis at the center on the ground plane.

        Hope this helps.

        Edit: D'oh, Bruce beat me.

          Hi Curry Pork,

wow, two people beat me, too, while I was typing! 😲

These are called "Face me" components. I generally create them with a standard front view (Camera menu > Standard views) and align them on the red/blue plane (it could be anything just make sure to face it fully).

          • Then select the item, right click > Make component.
          • Now in the dialog, choose "always face camera" and "shadow always face sun".
          • Now select the "Set component axes" and make sure that the component origin is placed at the feet of the people or trunk of the tree etc.
          • finally make sure that "Replace selection with component" at the bottom is also checked.
            That should be it.

          Gai...

Oh thank you so much. I spent half a day trying to figure this out with no success and it is so easy now. Thanks.

I don't know if it will help or not but here is a tutorial I did a while back on creating a 2D "Face Me" tree.
