      Hi all,
for a new project I have to make a vivarium for bears with an open air area.
Here I need some rocks for climbing.
How would you build up this kind of landscaping, particular with modeling and texturing.
The first goal is to make some fine renderimages.

I'm interior designer, so for this kind of modeling I can need some advices.

Frenchy 🤣 ...but you didn't get it.

Okay, ...it is for a Zoo, but it is not my design . I was asked to make the model of the organic shapes, like those faked rocks.
Again, what is the best way to model those rocks? Subd.smooth?
What is the best way to texture it?

Thanks for your explanation modelhead. Tree stumps and branches should be implemented.
The area is really small, like in every Zoo.
These are not my decisions and the result of the project should be finished next week by the architects. Then I have to start.

If you want to speed up the process you could take a look at Bryce or Vue, there are free versions of both, it would be really easy to model a few rocks and some terrain without much knowledge of the software that you can import into SU although the poly count may be a bit high.

If I'm modelling terrain for work projects I tend to just extrude contour lines and then only use the SU contours tool, because that way, if I need to make changes I haven't lost the underlying geometry.
