Hello there! I'm sure this question has been asked numerous times but I don't know what these things are called to search for my answer.

When two lines intersect, the edge is sort of emphasized. I don't know what they're called so I just call them brackets.

These brackets overwhelm small details when zoomed out, and I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of them.

Since words have failed me, I have illustrated it.

      Thanks

Those are extensions. Go to the Styles dialog (Window>Styles) and choose edit. Then go to line settings and untick "extensions". Those are sort of vague directions, but they should be fairly accurate. Hope that helps,

        Chris

Ah, perfect! It was actually the "endpoints" that were causing the problem, but once I got rid of those I had to get rid of the extensions too.

          Thank you very much.

oh yeah, endpoints. I had forgotten the name of the ones that don't extend - oops! Glad you were able to figure it out and thanks for coming back and letting us know it worked. Have fun!

Actually, both. In the new SU 7 templates they put both in. If you want to get rid of them ultimately, make your style (and any other) setting (you may be interested in the Window > Model info dialog, too) and save it as a custom template under the File menu (new to SU 7).

Then go to Window > Preferences > Templates and choose your newly created template for the future.

              Gai...
