Hi ! Weird behaviour on Sketchup

Hi everyone,
I'm new to sketchup; but not a total newbie in vectorial or 3D.
I want to use Sketchup to build my new appartment in 3D. I understood the concept; this is what I did :
- Build the inside walls, outside walls with lines and rectangles
and then I just upper everything so the wall become reality.
Now I started to dig holes into the walls to put doors or at least entries. It works for some.... but not on others... It's like something is going bad...
Please find attached my sketchup file just before extruding the walls with the tool... Did I do something wrong ? Honestly I spent 2 hours to troubleshoot and still looking...

You have some lines that are not on the red or green axis. Meaning the walls are not parallel. Which causes problems with push/pulling. So look at the attached screenshot. It shows each line if it is on the right axis. To do this yourself, go to Styles>Edit>Edge Settings>Color and set to "Color by Axis".

The further you push a drawing that has faulty geometry, the worse things get. I'd suggest doing as Chris says and turning on the Color by axis feature. If you have just a few lines that are off axis, then try deleting them and starting that part again.
If there are many...and as you haven't really got too far with the design, beyond the Push/Pull stage...i'd suggest orbiting down low, doing a rectangular select going right to left across all the walls, but not any part of the base. This will select everything...lines and faces...other than the original plan. Delete all this, correct any non-axis lines on the plan, then Push/Pull up again. You should then be able to cut holes, windows and doorways without any problem.
It sometimes faster to move forward by taking a step or two back first.

just as Chris and Alan said, some of your walls are not on the same geometry, so if the wall thickness is not the same on one wall, no matter how you push or pull, you will hit a problem. (ie. not forming an opening)
Best to turn on the axis colour under the styles menu to check if the walls are on the same plane.
I don't think its that hard to fix the problem. you just need to check your wall thickness before you do any extruding. It doesn't matter whether the walls are square/perpendicular to each other or not, because as long as your walls are with the same thickess(to each wall), you can use the ucs (axes tool) to set each walls x, y, and z axis.

Thanks all for the support. I got it. The colored axis is really a great tool. I'm still learning. I plan now to push/pull to get it 3D.... should I consider doing anything before ...? cause as soon as it's 3D ... getting back to "2D" is harder isnt it ?

Hi CĂ©dric,
As Alan said above, "going back to 2D" would practically mean deleting your walls.
- Go to a view where you can see the building from its side
- select the top part of it with a right-to-left selection box (this will also select the faces of the walls but not the edges that define the plan
- hit Del(ete) on the keyboard.
Now all you have left behind is the plan which now you can correct with the line tool.
One more tip: when you start drawing the line and it turns into red or green (showing that you are on axis), press the Shift key to lock the inference on that axis and simply snap to the other, perpendicular line.
