Hi, sorry, a bit new to downloading plugins etc! I've downloaded some, but they end up on a download page. Please could someone advise me how to get them on to my su program. (Hope this makes sense!) Richard P.S. Think idiot!!! 😳

You mean you click on an rb file and it appears as some idiot text like mambo-jumbo on screen?

Hi Gaieus. I did say think idiot!! HA! What happens is that I download a plugin/ruby, and a download page appears on my screen to which they download. When I open them, it asks me 'with what' to open them with. (internet explorer etc.). I've tried to 'browse' and select SU, but does not recognise this. I'm sure I'm just doing something basically wrong, or my laptop is not set up properly to deal with downloads! Thanks, Richardplant

I meant the text to be idion, not you πŸ˜„

Anyway, you can open these files simply with a text editor like Notepad (never with a word processor like Word or something!).

But the easies way is to right click > save as > and navigate to your Program files / Google / Google SketchUp <version number here> / Plugins directory and save it with an rb extension (IE might not ad this automatzically). Never change the file name though!

Then restart SU and (depending where the script registeres itself) you can find it somewhere in the menu system (mostly under Plugins but some go to the Draw or Edit menus or to the right click menu).
