I'm encountering lots of problems with using sketch up with my mac book (2.1).

When I create new surfaces or shapes they often obscure previous shapes/surfaces, even if they are adjacent not overlapping. This happens particularly in 2D view.

Most frustrating is the way the cursor behaves after about 20 mins of use - if using any tool, e.g. pencil, protractor, it begins replicate itself all over the drawing plane, a bit like old fashioned spirograph if anybody's old enough to remember that! It makes drawing hell. Some of my fellow students have suggested it might be the graphics card (which is GMA950) - has anybody else experienced this, and is there a solution?

I'm using both SU6 and SU7 - the problems seem the same in both.

Hi Kate and welcome (and I'm sorry that you need to come here with a problem instead of some exciteing project)

I'm not a Mac user so cannot really help here but will move your topic to the Sketchup Discussions > Bug reports section for better attention.

The Spirograph (I still remember) trailing effect is caused by the Intel graphics in your computer. I don't know if it is equally bad in a Mac as in a PC, so you could first try turning off Fast Feedback in the Preferences>OpenGL dialog, and restarting SU. If that didn't help, turning off Hardware Acceleration in the same dialog should, but it slows down the working of SU in all but the smallest models.

sorry to be slow saying thanks for the hekp with the spirograph problem - your fix worked a treat, and so far no noticeable slowing down in SU7.
