    Hi to all.
I m new register user so i must say a "Hello" to this community....

    To my problem now.....

I have a problem with Intersected edges in sketchup 7.
Earlier(in version 6) that was manually done..

    I must explain :

    Example : i draw a line.Then i draw a vertical line to the first . I multiply 10x.
When i go to move the first line(i want to create a checker pattern 10x10), i cant take all the line because is divided in 10 pieces......

Is there a preference that i must uncheck???

    Thank you all.

      Hi Goccis.

You can select all 10 segments in one move with a window select.

For a checckerboard pattern, I would draw a square and copy it once to create a line of squares and then copy the line of squares to get the full board.

      Just ideas.

        See this.....

At early version 6 that vertical edge was in one selection.
You must select all edges and then go Edit/intersect/intersect with model.

        Now that was gone.

There isnt a box you can tick to turn edge breaking off, however you can get round it simply by grouping the stuff you dont want to get broken.

In your case, though, i would just go with jeans idea and use a window select to get all the edges.

Actually, there have been serious discussions wether this new feature is more useful than the old method and the final "conclusion" (if there can ever be anything like that met among users at all) was that yes, it is still better than when we had to separate each overlapping line segment manually despite some certain cases when it is not a desired feature.

Certainly our workflows have to be adjusted to this new feature and some other kinds of workarounds developed when it is not needed.

                Hi.
I didn't knew that its been discussed this feature about this new version.
Let me say my opinion about that with, a project situation:

We want to draw a Bathroom(tiles). We have 2 walls and we want to fill them with a grid-tile-pattern.
In version 6 that was about 3-4 clicks of mouse , cause he had to draw the dimensions of the walls and then with the move tool, drag: once the vertical edge and multiply 10x.Then the horizontal edge and multiply 10x.FINISH.
                Now we have tiled wall.
                Select all(ctrl-A) Edit/Intersect with model....

I don't want to explain the version 7 situation because it is known, and my threat is already long.

I know this is my work flow, but its nice the user to have the choice!
Wish this thing come back with an update.....

                Thank you all.

Well, it was on another forum actually.

And as said, this is the case now so we have to get accustomed to it this or that way...
