Archicad to Sketchup?
-
Does anybody know if it is possible to import Archicad12 files to Sketchup? If it is possible what would the geometry's within sketchup be like?

Just did a quick bit of research, and it seems archicad can export .3ds files, which SU can import. Probably wont preserve materials though.

Thanks Remus!
At first I tried what you said and I was not able to. I changed views from Ground floor to Generic Axonometry and then I was able to. I also noticed that the different views in Archicad offer different options for exporting.
I hope this helps any one else who was wondering the same thing.

If I remember correctly there should be an exporter / Plugin for Archicad on the Google page under Plugins. Never used it, so I'm not sure if it was further developed.

Burkhard,
It's the other way round - there is a SKP Importer for Archicad that can be downloaded from the Graphisoft site. The version I have tested is meant for version 11, I don't know if it works with 12. Models imported with it needed quite a lot of cleanup, but it is a nice way of creating custom doors and windows as SU hole-cutting components are imported as windows or doors (if they touch an edge) into Archicad.
