Moving and "locking" on object to another?
-
Hey everybody, thanks in advance for any help:D
My problem is when I make a model, like a table and then another, the legs. I want to attach the legs to the table at the same position all over. But this process is really troublesome and hard. Is there an easy way to "lock" the legs to the main table? Or any other way to make the moving-objects-around-process easier?

See the file for a few ideas about how to go about it.
Things to note:
offset on bottom of table to act as guide geometry.
Top is group, and legs are a group, although they should be a component really.

looked at your example..the point being that you should start upside down and the flip it?
my problem is more how you move the component/group so that it fits at the place that I desire, both horizontally and vertically.. -
Hi Tobbe,
Note that after selecting an object (in Remus' case a group), you don't have to click on it with the move tool but you can click anywhere. If you create that offset to guide you, you can click on a midpoint of it, start the movement and click on the midpoint of the other, opposite line for instance. The leg will move accordingly.
Oh, by the way, hitting Ctrl+Move will make copies of your legs.
