Shadow effects
-
Hi all,
I was going through the feature of sketchup and noticed the shadow effects. I had also noticed that they were set for the Northern hemisphere. So I was wondering if there is a way to change or edit the shadow for the Southern hemisphere?
Thanks in advance Tankou. -

I'm using the latest free sketchup and I don't have the location tab under the model info.

You can get the same thing by using this plugin form jim: http://sketchuptips.blogspot.com/2008/01/plugin-model-location.html

Yes, from the free verion (Windos only ) the Location is missing.
Use Jim's script as Remus suggested.

If you go to su's resources folder, there is a i18n.dat file that has the default location of Su(free). In locations.dat there is information for various world wide locations. Anyone know if these files can be used to setup your shadows?

The shadows ought to be correct for any given location. The format of the locations.dat file is fairly easy to understand...it's just a csv (comma separated values) file. Each entry has the country, city, long. (east +, west -) lat (north +, south -) and time relative to GMT. You can add any location you like as long as you follow the same syntax. It;s the same with editing the default settings file too, I'd imagine.
