Need help with Solos tutorial?
-
I learned so much reading your stuff here, and following the tutorials.
And now, I followed Solos "making drapes"-tutorial step by step, and nothing is how it was supposed to be.
First my SKP file ended 3,24 mb. Isn't it just a little to musch for one simple drape
Bellow you can see the capture of my result.
1.The projected material is totally broken on the wavy drape.
2.Wavy drape has really rounded edges.
What am I doing wrong ...pls tell me!Since the skp file is to big , and could not be uploaded to this forum, bellow is the download link for it:

I'm not sure why your file is so big. Either you've used a massive image to map the drape with, or you have way too many segments in your curves...which generate way too many faces in the final model.
I have to say, that texture doesn't look projected to me. What you need to do is copy the flat image so that it is vertically above the drape...and completely covering it (switching from Perspective to parallel projection helps here)...sample it (Paint+Alt), then select the whole of the drape mesh and paint the sampled texture across the whole surface in one action.
EDit: I just noticed the download link. The jpeg is 2.54 MB...suggest resampling a tad smaller, like down to 10%?
If you do what I said above, you get this.

Zdravo Atrox,
Alan is spot on!
- your texture on the flat surface is projected, on the wavy surface it is not however. Do what Alan says
- Your image file was 2.something Mb and about 200 pixels wide (note that SU won't diplay images better than 1024 pixls anyway)
I projected the texture correctly and resized your image - now the model is less than 100 Kb. (see attached). Also purged it from Bryce and his materials.
