I really like the outliner and hope that in the next release it gets a good overhaul. The problem I have with it is when all your items are grouped out it becomes a bit of a pain should you have amend the model and say move the building in by a metre on one side. This means going into the glass group selecting the appropriate polys and moving them, then going into the next group and so on.... Is there a better workflow while maintaining the us of outliner.

Couldnt you just select all the geometry (ctrl+a) and move it? Not really sure why youd want to use the outliner for this?

The outliner is for when we export the model out of sketchup and into Cinema 4D. It is nice to have the model in a well set up hierachy as this is how Cinema 4D works. Layers can be used, but when you have glass which across many buildings it's nice to seperate out each building. So Building 1 has Glass, Window Frame, Brick, etc as do other buildings.

Sorry just had a thought actually. If all my groups are named correctly I can explode the Nest holder, move all individual groups then regroup according to the name in the outliner, should work o.k.

If you have multiple buildings, and want to move only one, couldn't you create a layer for each building. Using the "put in layer" plugin, put all the geometry for each building in its layer. Then, turn off all layers except the one for the building you want to move, select all the geometry in that layer and move it.

            Have fun...
