of the inference track. how do i get it back on the track again? here my model. as you can see, the model started to get all messed up. i can fix it though, i just need to get the model back on inference. it looks all crooked. i tried adjusting it with the rotate tool, but it still looks crooked no matter what i do. it seems like its floating?

I had a quick look at your model, and my best suggestion is that you start again. The geometry is so irregular and twisted that I couldn't find a reference to carry out a meaningful rotation. Sorry!

        Regards,
        Bob

If you turn on hidden geometry you will see there are a number of coplanner surfaces. There are many ways that you can create these surfaces by mistake but this normally indicates that your model is not symetrical. As has been said you need to rebuild and straighten...maybe not all but start with the base.
The axis is always a good way to protect your symetry...always start with it...work with it....stay close to it.

            Cheers!!!

            alright. thanx modelhead πŸ‘

I'd also suggest visiting the Styles box and turning off all the fancy graphics and profile lines. The styles are meant for presentation purposes, not really for construction. Your model is likely to be far more accurate in boring black and white; and lines connect more accurately if they are hairlines not pieces of string.
It's also a good idea to have edges set to Color by Axis (again in Styles) for the first few weeks, so you can see instantly any that are not true. However, on this particular model, that's not going to be much use because of its curving construction.

Alan is spot on with his tips, but there is a slight variation to be offered. I often suggest leaving profile lines on, especially for beginners, just because it helps you to know if you've actually closed a face correctly. Its easier to spot lines that are not closing faces correctly with it on because offending lines stay huge and dark, where lines that are acting correctly will turn thin. But some people really don't like to have it on. Just a thought,

                  Chris

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.
