      do some ruby scripts only work with the pro version? like i was thinking about buying smustards subdivide and smooth. does that work with the free version of sketchup?

        Yes, it should work with both the pro and free versions of SU.

        I think the recent confusion is because the free V5 didnt support .rbs files which would stop some rubies working, its no longer a issue though.

          No, there should be no problems running scripts on both the free and pro versions.

          What you need to be aware of (as far as script compatibility) is the difference between version 5 and 6. Many scripts are using features that are only available in version 6, and are thus not compatible with version 5.

            Yes, that's true remus, but there is more to it. Version 6 included a lot of new features for the Ruby developer: Observers, WebDialogs, and Styles to name the major enhancements. (what's new in V6)
