'Form Contour' problem
-
I have been playing around with the sandbox tool to make contours but I have found that the 'form contour' option gives me little discrepancies from the actual lines I use to generate them. Currently my office uses Vectorworks terrain modeller to make its contours and I would like to move to skp for it - but if it cant be 100% accurate then I don't think I could convince the people in my firm. I have attached a file that highlights the problem. If someone could have a look at the file I'd really appreciate it.
*Note = I have tried some ruby mod's on it already to no avail such as - weld and simpligy contours.

Here is a quick go with the sandbox tool.
Remember the model is only going to be as accurate as the contour lines you use, these look like they could be a little sparse if 100% accuracy is what you are after, the more info you put in will produce a better result.

Here is my version. Notice that in the corner of the "stamped" house, the contours are faulty (edges painted red). You should heal them so that the stamped foundation of the building sits on the ground correctly (as wellas the rectangle can create an own face).
I have placed everything elso on layer 1 so that when I turn on hidden geometry,I cannot see the building and the road (and the contour lines).

The from contours often had these kinds of problems unfortunately.

Yeah, also the drape tool. One can never spare some investigation in glitches and some hand work on the model.
