I would appreciate some guidance on rounding my edges. The attached screen capture shows what I tried to do however while I figured out how the arc tools works, my edges look horrible with shadows turned on.

      HELP!

I started out with a circle, extruded it a bit using the push/pull tool, and then the arc tool to try to make a nice rounded edge.

Anyone have a suggestion about how to do this better?

That shape could be achieved better using the 'follow me' tool.

As solo mentioned use Follow Me by drawing the profile of the shape to the central point and using Follow Me around a circle.
If you don't quite understand we can provide an example.
The model you have created could be remedied by increasing the segments in your circle which you push pulled. Just choose the circle tool and down in the bottom right corner (VCB) you will see a number. This is the amount of sides in your circle. Just try increasing it.

Thanks. I forgot to mention I did use the follow-me tool.

I will recreate the model using the segment suggestion to see if this remedies the 'overlap.'

Much better now with added segments!

I have another problem though; now it seems more difficult to find the center of this push-pull/follow-me circle. I no longer get the line that extended from an endpoint nor the 'snap to' for the center point.

Is there another way to find the center so I can create another circle on top of this one?

I'm guessing you are looking for the centre point of the top circle which has bevelled edges.

Firstly turn on hidden geometry in the Edit Menu.
You could then select the circle edge and offset another circle.
You could use the ruby script point at centre.rb (I think its called this)to create a centre point to work from.
You could draw a line across the circle and pick it's centre point for your circle.

Normally with a standard circle you can just select one of the outer points (mid or end) then move towards the centre and the point will show.

Thank you again. I found this (http://www.smustard.com/script/CenterPoint). Working good so far.

The problem is that the follow me tool explodes the curve and it is no longer a curve entity (with the center point inference).
Now you found the answer - this ruby simply rocks and after a while you will even forget that it is not a native SU tool that you have been using for ages (also download the weld ruby - invaluable help!).

                    Gai...
