I know this is probably the dumbest question ever asked on here. 😳

When I am building something, and use the orbiter to move around, say if the object looks like it is sticking up, it will go flat and I will not be able to modify it to make it look like it was sticking up again.

How can I fix this? Sorry for asking a very dumb question, but for a newbie like me it gets very annoying.

        Hi Terry,

This is the perfect place to ask "dumb" questions so don't worry!

The only thing I'm embarrassed about is that I don't seem to understand your problem. I guess it is not that you are in parallel camera mode (you can change this and perspective under the camera menu).

Also it does not seem to be a FOV (field of view) issue which you could fix by selecting the Zoom tool and while holding the Shift key pressed, zooming in and out.

Sorry for not making my question clear. I will try to put pictures to explain.

See how it kind of looks as if it is going up? If I move it if I were to work on the side, it looks like this...

And then if I try to pan it back, all I can get is this...

It's probably extremely easy and practical to fix but I can't figure it out. 😠 Also, I am not on parallel camera.

Well, nothing seems to be wrong to my eyes. They're just regular views in SU.

I wonder however that if you use the camera tools separately (and other toolbars as well), why you still have the large toolset open?

Also, have you tried orbiting with the mouse wheel ("3rd" or "middle mouse button") to orbit? much easier than always selecting the orbit tool (with Shift pressed, it turns into the Pan tool).

Maybe it's just me, and I'm seeing it wrong.

To be honest, I have no clue. I am a newb after all. 😳 I never thought of changing around the interface.

I have not tried that! Thank you for your tips and your help, it is MUCH appreciated.

Maybe it's just hard to grab the "feeling" of orbiting around.
Also, if you keep Ctrl pressed, you get a "free mode" of orbiting.
